Wabi Sabi Vase
The Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi is rooted in Buddhism. Dana embraces the belief all beauty is transitory by nature and appreciation lies in the moment. Her handmade line of Wabi Sabi ceramic vases echo these principals with the care and attention that goes into each piece during the creation process. The exclusive glaze palette of semi-matte red and irregular cream texture compliments the form and harmonizes any setting, filling it with warmth and energy. Dana uses a clay body she also formulated that compliments the surface with a slight texture that is pleasing to the touch.
Designed to hold water, vases may be used for a live arrangement, or, in Wabi Sabi custom, a single irregular twig. By owning this piece, you know that you have supported Dana in her desire to bring fine art and mindfulness into every home. Each vase is signed by Dana and stamped with her distinctive makers mark.
This vase was fired to 2300˚. The interior has been lined with a white ‘liner’ glaze and will easily hold water. However, all ceramic ware may experience condensation and it’s recommended to place on a coaster especially on a wooden surface. The piece may be cleaned with warm, soapy water and air dried. Dishwashing is not recommended.
